Which Class is right for You?
Reformer Pilates spaces will be prioritised to those who have been taking part in Mat Pilates regularly.
Mat Pilates
Suitable for beginner to advanced levels, Mat Pilates uses primarily bodyweight exercises and builds strong foundations in all movements. Various options are given, with choice of equipment to add challenge.
REFORMER PILATES
Suitable for Intermediate to Advanced, Reformer Pilates builds on the Mat Pilates fundamentals and ads resistance and instability. New to Pilates? Try 6+ Mat Sessions first, or book a 1:1 Reformer Session.

It's a classic workout that's stood the test of time for good reason. Pilates is truly life changing for so many through posture alignment, recruitment of deep muscles, improved mobility and core control.
CLASS INFORMATION
Whats Involved
Mat Pilates is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities. Each workout is packed with options so you can train at an intensity that works for you. You can move at your own pace, slowing down and stopping as you need.
Reformer Pilates is more advanced, and has each participant using a Reformer which ads resistance (weight/springs) and instability (moving carriage) to advance the challenge of each movement. Prior experience with Mat Pilates is strongly advised.
What does it do?
Mat Pilates uses small, controlled, bodyweight movements, to sculpt and strengthen all major muscle groups, improve alignment and increase flexibility. It’s a low-impact but intense way to achieve full body results.
Reformer Pilates builds on Mat Pilates, using a Reformer Machine that ads resistance and instability to take the challenge to a new level.
What to bring
You don't need to bring anything other than water and towel for any class at Evolve Studios. All equipment is provided for you.
Health Considerations
Mat Pilates is suitable and beneficial for all. You are welcome to contact us if you would like to check the particular movements in an upcoming class if you feel some may not be safe for you. Reformer Pilates can be very beneficial for some health considerations, but this would need to be provided specifically on 1:1 basis, please get in touch for more info. Pregnancy: If you’re pregnant, regular pilates sessions can be great for helping maintain core control and muscle balance. But before you begin we recommend talking with your doctor or midwife who will advise you appropriately, as they have the best knowledge of your medical history.
It’s also important to let your Instructor know you’re pregnant so they can suggest some modifications for you throughout the class.
