What is BODYPUMP?

BODYPUMP™ is THE ORIGINAL BARBELL CLASS™, the ideal workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast.

Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body 45 minute workout. Burn up to 400 calories per session and sculpt your physique through scientifically-backed moves and techniques. Your expert instructor will be pumping out encouragement and motivation along to great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

BODYPUMP is the most popular fitness class in the world for good reason. The energy is inspiring, the playlist is amazing, and you can see both your in-class progression and body adaptations week on week as you advance through the options and increase the weight on your bar.

CLASS INFORMATION

Whats Involved

BODYPUMP is the original barbell class, but you can participate without the bar - Using weight plates in your hands or your bodyweight alone for any of the movements, to find the intensity level that feel right for you.
Movements include squats, deadlifts, lunges, upright rows, bent over rows, overhead press, chest press, bicep curls - to name a few. You'll be coached how to perform these fundamental movements safely and given alternative option if you need.

The workout is low impact (no jumping) but your heart rate will be raised and sweat will fall, as we burn hundreds of calories through our high reps.

What does it do?

BODYPUMP is a total body strength workout that will shape and tone all major muscle groups, increase core strength, improve bone health and leave you feeling strong and fit.

 

The high rep, lower weight training of BODYPUMP™ is based on a formula called THE REP EFFECT™, which utilizes time under tension and fatigue to generate muscular adaptation. During a BODYPUMP workout you will burn hundreds of calories which aids loss of body fat, whilst improving your lean muscle mass which keep your metabolism high and allows you to maintain a toned physique in the long term.

What to bring

You don't need to bring anything other than water and towel for any class at Evolve Studios. All equipment is provided for you.

Health Considerations

BODYPUMP is a low impact workout, which means no jumping or bouncing. Your feet are firmly planted for most of the workout, and all moves are soft on the joints - any pulses or faster movements can be modified if you need.

This class can be safe during pregnancy if you were already exercising in a similar way prior, power BODYPUMP is not advised for a beginner in pregnancy.
